Nurit Barnea, the head of the DOOR Development Centre has been an Instructional Designer for 20 years. She is the author of 30 published books on both formal and informal learning.
For those wondering, Instructional Design (ID) is the theory, research and development of implementing instructional strategies. She enjoys her job as ID because there is a need for creativity - in order to wisely select, organize and link information. Also, a high calibre of writing is necessary - a trait that has been with Nurit since childhood. Finally, as a people-person, she thrives from “touching people’s lives.”
Her guidelines are, “Run fast, aim high, make the future a part of now.” She understands the need to be quicker than the competition, while still maintaining a deep level of analysis. Although training programs only last 3-5 years, she firmly believes that you have to return the value to the customer by being innovative, creative, educational and most importantly, fun! We are looking forward to the knowledge that will be shared amongst the DOOR network now that it has been fortified with Instructional Design.
